Supervised child visitation please help.?

Who gets to Choose the supervisor for child visitation rights ? The person with sole custody ( in this case the mother) or the Visitor ( in this case the father )... Because I do not feel comfy with him choosing because he will choose a family member and his family is just as much untrustworthy.
