How far are the Alps from Vienna? Tours avail?

You can go from Vienna to Salzburg where they made The Sound Of Music. It only takes a few hours to get there and a very pretty drive. You can travel around Austria easily and nowhere is that far from Vienna, compared to say the U.S, Canada or Australia. It is not too big of a country. You should have no problems finding tours or transport to the Alps. Check with the hotel, accomodation, train station or tourist info centre when you are there. I recommend going, as it's very pretty.
