Why is it haram to draw images and pictures?

sorry about the incorrect answers. the reason that we cant draw living things (its ok to draw stuff like trees flowers or a landscape), is because on the day of judgement we will be asked to breathe life into our creation, Allah is the only one who can create, and there will be a punishment for trying to equate yourself with Allah in doing things like making a statue. doesnt have a whole lot to do with worshipping a picture you drew, but can keep people from haram in for example someone making a statue of Muhammad (saws) and then people start coming to it crying or praying in front of it or something
