Why was the leader of the EDL invited on to Newsnight last night?

When the Paxman didn't allow him to speak? Every time he went to speak Paxman talked over him and just kept interrupting. How was he allowed to do that, the EDL have as much right to speak as anyone else. He denied any involvement or contact with the Norway killer, and even as he was trying to say how bad the killing spree was and offering condolences Paxman talked over him.
